Thomas James, an American pipe carver, likes to participate in as many pipe shows and pipe events he can throughout the
year. Many pipe events are sponsored by the local pipe clubs and tobacco shops in the area of the event. They are very
organized, a lot of fun, and very inexpensive to attend. Independent pipe makers depend on the shows to expose their handy
work to pipe smokers, collectors, shop owners, and even international wholesale pipe dealers. Many individual briar carvers
establish themselves through the pipe show venues and really enjoy talking and meeting with their fellow pipe smokers.
